There are decisions that are not a destination, but a deliberate starting point. From today, TAPSi will operate exclusively with electric vehicles, without a single combustion engine vehicle in its fleet. Not as a goal for the coming years, but as the reality of the platform from now on.

This is, for us, the most honest way to explain who we are. TAPSi was born at the University of Coimbra, created by doctoral students, and was incubated at the inCoimbra StartUp HUB. We grew up here, in the city, and it was here that we decided what kind of mobility we wanted to build. A platform created from scratch today, in 2026, doesn't need to manage a slow transition from an old fleet: it can simply be born right at the destination. That's what we chose to do.

A sector in transition, and a platform that has already reached its destination.

The mobility sector is, in fact, electrifying. According to IMT data from April 2026, 45% of the active TVDE fleet in Portugal is already electric. This number shows the right direction, but also that the transition is only halfway through: the majority of vehicles continue to rely on combustion.

The difference with TAPSi lies here. While the major platforms are advancing, step by step, to electrify the fleets they inherited, we built ours entirely electric. Every trip made through TAPSi is a journey with zero exhaust emissions, in cities that deserve cleaner air and quieter streets.

A new phase, supported by greater solidity.

This new positioning coincides with a phase of greater maturity for the platform. The last few months have been a period of intense work to make TAPSi substantially more robust and reliable, and to improve the tools we put in the hands of drivers, helping them to better manage their daily lives. A recently completed investment round, with the entry of new partners connected to the national technology ecosystem, gives us the means to continue investing in what matters: solid technology, a reliable service, and a close relationship with those who work with us.

We believe in fairer mobility for both parties. For passengers, a quality, transparent, and sustainable service. For drivers and operators, better conditions and a closer, more balanced relationship than is usual in this sector.

Made in Portugal, from Coimbra.

TAPSi remains what it has always been: a Portuguese platform, with technology developed in Portugal, deeply connected to the city where it was born. Coimbra was our living laboratory, and it is from here that we want to show that it is possible to build a fully electric urban mobility model, designed for the people and the cities where they live.

This is the TAPSi we are from today onwards. Electric. Portuguese. Yours.
